Body and Psychodrama : Merleu-Ponty based viewpoint
Kim Hun-Sung

Abstract
The objective of this study is to identify what the body in psychodrama means from the phenomenological viewpoint, especially Merleau-Ponty¡¯s perspective. Psychodrama is a process of existential encounter based on body philosophy. Psychodrama is based on phenomenological philosophy, and conclusions were drawn from this study as follows: first, the body of protagonist is the expression of self. Body responds before verbal expressions, which is the phenomenon of truth but also the error. Psychodrama can make the body become transformed to a new body schema. Second, the body of the protagonist is the body of the world.. It is a metaphysical body. Psychodrama can help the protagonist accept and become assimilated with participants. Third, the body perceives the intrinsic meaning which rises within. Such experiences occur in the situational time and space.
